What is CRAGA? One of the fundamental missions of the PGA is to grow the game of golf and to help accomplish this, the NENY PGA has helped to create the Capital Region Amateur Golf Association (CRAGA). The section's website will serve as the central communication source and section staff will provide administrative and tournament services for the amateur association body.
Is there a Fee? Yes, the nominal annual fee of $25 will be used to offset costs related to maintaining the annual schedule and points system, tournament administration, both onsite (scoring, pace of play and rules officiating) and behind the scenes (telephone, copies, postage, printing, tournament supplies and staff expenses). A registration fee of $10 may be included and duly noted in your entry fee for some tournaments to help defray tourney and office administration fees such as mailing and postage costs, credit card merchant fees, tourney supplies, etc.
What are the benefits of being a CRAGA member? CRAGA will serve as the clearing house for all database maintenance for local, state and national tournaments. The association will provide online tournament registration, event and course scheduling and a continuously updated source of information for amateurs that enjoy to compete.
Are there any events in which my eligibility is based on CRAGA membership? In order to be eligible for the Capital Region Stroke Play Championship, the Gazette Cup (an annual event featuring the top 12 NENY PGA Professionals versus the top 12 Local Amateurs from the previous year's ranking system), the CRAGA Points Challenge (a new end of the season points event) and any other team or CRAGA sponsored events created in the future.
