STILL TIME - To Send in Your Nominations!

There is still plenty of time to take a moment and send in a nomination of a fellow section professional for a 2019 NENY PGA Section Special Award!

Deadline is: December 31, 2019!

Please feel free to check out the webpage below with specific criteria & eligibility of each award and you can also download a formal form to submit. Section staff will take nominations via phone, email and text as well for your convenience.

Make sure you're int the know about the coming changes to the World Handicap System which is intended to be a benefit to golfers everywhere.

You can increase you're awareness now at the website below and also be sure to mark your calendar for the NENY PGA Education Seminar on the WHS presented by Bill Moore, Executive Director of the NY State Golf Association that will be open to our members and your own club representatives or Handicap Chairpersons to cover all the new changes.

*At the seminar, you will also be able to take the online assessment that is required of every club for your GHIN service to be in effect.

MEMBERSHIP NEWS

New Indoor Facility Opens
Top Indoor Golf, another new indoor golf facility located on New Karner Road in Colonie, NY is open and a new PGA recognized facility. Kevin Cain, PGA and Ben Banks, PGA are both PGA instructors at the facility that has 8 simulators (varying varieties) in a 5,000 square foot facility.

Members On the Move
Doug Wiltsie's employment role of Head Golf Professional with Red Hook Golf Club has ended.

Ron Choquette, PGA Life Member has returned back to Florida. Ron served as a teaching instructor at Burden Lake in the 2019 summer season.

Dan Spooner, PGA has officially retired from his role as Head Professional at Leatherstocking GC and his membership status has transferred to Life Member Retired status at the end of November.

Mike McAllister, PGA Associate will not be returning to Glens Falls CC in the role of Assistant Professional.

NENY PGA Section - Holiday Office Schedule Reminder

Please be aware that the NENY PGA Section office hours will follow those of the PGA of America Headquarters and will be closing on Friday, December 20th through the January 1st new year date.

Section staff will be accessible via email and/or text should an issue arise from a member that needs addressed.
