NENY PGA Special Award Nominations Completed


Despite a tough year, our members were resilient and our Section Special Awards nominations closed last week on January 22nd. and we ended up with 104 total nominations and 58 of those being individual names (non-duplicates). 

All nominees have been sent an email notification informing them along with a link to a questionnaire to be completed. Friday, February 22nd is the deadline for applications to be submitted for consideration by the Committee. 

PGAJL Captains/Coaches Take Note -

This is an important week as 2021 Player Registration opens next Monday February 1. Player registration promotions will be pushed out BUT, before your club/team's registration can go live, captains will need to make sure their Abuse Training is complete and their Background Check must have passed. The training involves a 90 minute video followed by a quiz that must be taken afterward.

Abuse Training for captains and coaches is required to be compliant with the Safe Sport Authorization Act in 2017.

NENY PGA Section Earns Recognition 

Since 2019, PGA Jr. League has annually recognized the PGA and LPGA Professional Captains with the 25 largest programs in the country and  in each PGA Section.

Our own NENY PGA Section made the list at tied for 16th in the country for our Fall PGAJL Team we administered last season!  Don't miss out and register your facility for a PGAJL this season!

Berliner Makes Top 10 

Scott Berliner, PGA Assistant at Saratoga Spa GC teamed up with Brian Cairns a PGA Teaching Professional out of the Michigan PGA Section and the 2015 Senior PGA Professional Player of the Year to finish at 22 under par and tied for 10th place finish in the Senior-Junior Team Championship that was played at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fl a few weeks ago.

PGA Scholarship Application Reminder

Deadline for submitting the PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship application and the supporting documents is March 23rd!
