All NENY PGA member professionals received an email requesting completion of a member survey. for committee members and staff to assist in program planning for the coming season.

The survey is extremely brief and your participation is necessary and appreciated.

Members on the Move

McGregor Links Country Club recently announced the hire of Mike Decker, PGA as their new Head Professional. Mike was previously the Assistant Professional at Shaker Ridge for the last 3 years and previous to that worked as an Assistant in the MET PGA Section at The Club at Villa Roma and New Paltz Golf Course.

Joining the Taconic Golf Club staff this season will be Justin Kumpulanian. Justin is a PGA Associate who will start in April as an Assistant Professional and comes from The Country Cub of Wilbraham in the New England PGA Section.

Important Tax Info

1099: Please be reminded that the 1099 Tax Forms have been sent out for the NENY PGA Section and the NENY PGA Foundation entities. 1099 tax forms are issued for payments of $600 or more and members who have inquiries about your 1099 or to check if you are receiving one you can contact section staff.

Tournament Expenses:: Staff will provide members with a report of your tournament expenses/entry fees for your tax preparation. Please contact section staff.

PGA of America Allows Use of Distance Measuring Devices During Major Champs
Earlier this month the PgA of America announced that beginning in 2021, the use of distance measuring will be allowed during competition rounds at its three Major Championships: the PGA Championship, KPMG Women's PGA Championship and KitchenAid Seior PGA Championship.

Complimentary Ticket Access Update
As the situation with COVID-19 continues the PGA of America and other national Allied Golf Associations work through planning for spectator and PGA Member complimentary ticket access. Most recently the Masters announced that they will conduct their Championship similar to 2020's and therefore PGA member access will not be permitted but are looking forward to providing that access again at the 2022 Masters for all PGA members.

PGA Scholarship Deadline Changed To April 20

Due to the closures of many schools throughout the US the date to submit an application and supporting materials has been pushed back.

On behalf of PGA Scholarship Committee Chair, Greg Neujahr, we wanted to share an update with all of you. The application deadline for the PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship has changed. The new deadline date is Monday, April 5, 2021, 11:59 pm/Pacific time.

Students must complete their application and have their supporting documents submitted on or before April 5th.

Updated Dates
April 5, 2021 – Deadline for submitting Application and Supporting Documents
May 2021 - Notification of Selection Results
July 2021 - Funds Disbursed
August 2021 - Deadline date for photo submission
October 2021 - The PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship recipients will be in PGA Magazine and PGA Magazine digital version.

Spring Meeting Moved to Virtual

Monday, March 29th - Please mark your calendars!

The NENY PGA Section's Board of Directors have decided the Spring Membership Meeting set for Monday, March 29th will be done in a virtual platform. At the last board meeting on Tuesday, February 9th, discussion regarding the current COVID situation in our region, NY State COVID gathering guidelines and protocols for large groups were discussed in length and the board felt unanimously that an in-person meeting just isn't feasible yet. Our members and guests safety is of the utmost concern and hopefully with conditions improving the 2021 Fall Meeting will provide us with the opportunity to meet in a face-to-face situation.
