OMEGA POY - KING, PGA Earns Legend's Division Winner
Congratulations to Willie King, PGA owner of Plattsburgh Golf who earned the title of 2019 Legends Division OMEGA Player of the Year! The last Legend's points event took place on Tuesday with the Senior Stroke Play Championship being contested at CC of Troy.

Willie and John Durcan Sr. (Alapaha Golf Center) were back and forth all season with top wins in their Division events but Willie held out with a 35-40-75 (+4) over John's 40-37-77 (+6)! Durcan had earned the title the previous two golf seasons so congratulations Will!

Dal Daily, PGA Head Professional at Windham CC won the Championship Division of the Senior Stroke Play with an even par of 71-71-142 to secure the last spot into the PGA Senior Professional Championship in Austin, TX this October to join Erik Tiele (Waubeeka Golf Links) and Peter Gerard (Mill Road Acres GC) as the other qualifying professionals from NENY PGA.

PGA of AMERICA I.T. UPDATE - August 24th-25th

In a continuing effort to modernize the technology on which the systems run, and reduce the risk introduced by aging tech, PGA of America will be undergoing an update to the infrastructure that supports CCMS (PGA Membership Database)—specifically, we will be moving it to the Cloud.

What does this mean for you as a member?

This weekend of August 24-25, 2019, CCMS/SMS and related systems (see list below) will be unavailable for periods of time. Maintenance will begin at 4:00AM EST. We are doing our best to limit the inconvenience while ensuring a smooth and successful transition, but it’s advised that you avoid these systems for those 2 days.

Limited access to the foolowing that be affected systems / processes include:

• CCMS / SMS (PGA Membership Database)
• Parts of pga.org
• New employer registration
• Change request processes
• NENY PGA Section Tournament Registration for PGA of America National Qualifiers
  * National Car Rental Section Assistant PGA Professional Championship
  * Section PGA Professional Championship
  *NENY PGA Members will likely LOSE access to register online for these days so PLAN accordingly

AndersMattsonGolf Team Wins PGA Jr. League Section Championships

The AndersMattsonGolf All-Star #1 Team have earned the opportunity to advance into the Regional Championship to compete against PGA Junior League Championship teams from Connecticut and 2 New England teams on September 14 & 15, 2019 at Cranberry Valley Golf Course in Harwich, MA. The best team from the Regional Championship will compete in the 2019 PGA Jr. League National Championship in November to be hosted in Scottsdale, AZ.

The weeekend's Championship hosted by Town of Colonie GC experienced delays due to weather during both rounds and the results panned out as follows:

Qualifying Round (Rnd 1) - Top 4 teams advanced to Rnd 2
1^st place: AndersMattsonGolf Team #1 - 99
2^nd place: * Albany North Team -127
3^rd place: Berkshires Team – 127
4^th place: *AndersMattsonGolf Team #2 – 128

5^th place: Albany East Team - 128
6^th place: Clifton Park Team - 137
7^th place: Saratoga Team – 131
*Won on a tie breaker

Semi-Final Match Results (Rnd 2) - Top 2 teams advanced to Final Match
(1) AndersMattsonGolf Team #1 swept the (4) AndersMattsonGolf Team #2 by a score of 12 flags to 0 flags
(3) Albany North Team defeated (4) Berkshires Team by a score of 8.5 flags to 3.5 flags

In the Championship (1) AndersMattsonGolf Team #1 beat the (3) Albany North Team 10.5 flags to 1.5 flags.

A big congratulations to Anthony Therrien, PGA Associate and Head Professional at Brookhaven GC on the recent addition of Theo to their family! Theo is healthy and happy and at home along with mom (Kate) and big brother Henry rounding out the family. Congratulations Therrien's!

PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship
PGA of America awarded $400,000 in scholarships to 185 students. The scholarship checks started going out the week of July 15th. Please note that the checks are mailed directly to the colleges. For our scholarship winners, if your student's school hasn't received the payment please feel free to contact Valerie Jjohnson at PGA vjohnson@pgahq.com
