PGA Junior League Workshop - Following Fall Meeting
Any professional interested there will be an Informal Round-table discusison on the Best Practices of PGA Junior League led by PGA Regional Manager, Brian Bain.

*Approximately 1-1.5 hours in length following lunch (2 MSR Required Credits)

Despite some tough conditions - the Inaugural Section 2 High School Girls Golf Sectional & State Qualifier held on Friday, October 11 at Fairways of Halfmoon GC was a tremendous success - most importantly for the 50 girls who got to compete in the first ever event. Dottie Pepper and several NY State Section 2 and NYSPHAA representatives were present to share in the celebrated occassion as well. A hearty congratulations goes out to the top 9 girls who qualified and will move on to advance to the 2020 NY State Girls State Championship next June 5-7 at Deerfield CC in Brockport, NY.

Special thanks to our PGA members who gave up their time to volunteer as Rules Officials and help the entire field!

Section 2 Boy's High School Sectional & State Qualifier - Results After Round 1

The Boy's Section 2 High School A-B-C-D Championship also took place this week at Orchard Creek GC but they've only been able to get in the first round (Tuesday, Oct. 16) as the final round was washed out that was supposed to be played Thursday, Oct. 18. Top 20 from the first round advanced and will play on the re-scheduled date of Monday, Oct. 21st.

50 Year Anniversary for Local Facility

A hearty congratulations goes out to the Section's home site of Town of Colonie Golf Course in Schenectady, NY who celebrated 50 years of operation this past holiday weekend of Columbus Day. As a show of appreciate to their customers and golfers, the course offered greens fees at 1969 prices of $4 for town residents and $5 for non-residents through the weekend. Pictured left is PGA Head Professional & General Manger, Noel Gebauer who was presented a plaque in a ceremony featuring Town of Colonie Supervisor, Paula Mahan on Saturday Noel is a life-long resident and NENY PGA Section member of 23 years and is nearing the finish of his term as PGA District 1 Director.

The NENY PGA - CNY PGA Challenge Cup was rained out yesterday and has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 24th at The Edison Club.

However, as we move into the hiring season, please be advised that NENY PGA Section Career Consultant will be in the Albany area on the afternoon of Thursday, October 24th and available to meet with any professionals who would like to make an appointment. First come, first serve for meeting times for approximate times in the afternoon from 2pm-6pm.

PGA of America - PGA PAK Mailing

The PGA PAK Mailing that members are accustom to is in the process of being put together. The 2020 Appointment Calendar will once again be the main component of the PAK as well as other important enclosures. The PAK is scheduled to begin shipping shortly after the PGA Annual Meeting in mid-November.

For our NENY PGA Section members who may be down south early, don't forget that you have the opportunity to atend the 2019 PGA of America Annual Meeting that will be held November 5-8 in West Palm Beach at the Hilton West Palm Beach, Florida and witness an PGA Association Meeting & Business as well as earn MSR Credits!
