2019 Fall Membership Meeting Recap

The 2019 NENY PGA Section's Fall Membership Meeting was hosted this morning at Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, NY with 46 Class "A" PGA members in attendance as well as a few special guests. The meeting included committee updates presented by their committee chair's, section reports & updates, our 2019 Playing Award Presentations, a PGA District 1 Town Hall forum with District 1 Director, Noel Gebauer and the Incoming District 1 Director, Ian Marshall (Connecticut PGA Section) and concluded with the Board Elections where 3 At-Large-Director positions were voted on.

Section 2 Boy's High School Sectional & State Qualifier Results

The Boy's Section 2 High School A-B-C-D Championship final round finished up on Monday, October 21 at Orchard Creek GC after being rained out last week. Big congrats to top 9 boys advancing to the 2020 NY State High School Boy's Championship.

NENY PGA Section Seeking Facility Host Sites

The Committee's, Board and staff have begun digging into programming and looking at 2020 section planning and beyond and should you have any inquiries about hosting any type of events from:
* Education Seminars
* Junior Tournaments (1 day and 2 day)
* Professional Tournaments (1 day and 2 day)
* Drive Chip & Putt Host Site
* Meetings

MEMBERSHIP NEWS

We regret to pass on the news of the passing of Ralph Montoya Jr., son of long-time NENY PGA Lifetime Retired Member, Ralph Montoya Sr. Ralph Jr. passed away at home on October 13 after an illness with colon cancer and he was previously in the golf business like his dad and was a PGA Golf Professional member for 20 plus years.

Services were held in October but memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice who were gracious and loving with Ralphs care in his final days (www.karenannquinlanhospice.org).Please be sure to keep the Montoya family in your thoughts.

Registration is now open for the 2019 PGA Tournament Series presented by GolfAdvisor.

Six competitive events have been scheduled for December at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL, with $11,500 sponsor dollars added to each event's purse. These 2-day events, open to PGA Members and Associates, are a great way for players to compete against other PGA Professionals, take home a piece of the $37,500 purse and possibly accumulate national player of the year points in the process.
