PGA Hope

PGA HOPE serves as the military pillar of PGA REACH, and a rehabilitative program designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being
PGA HOPE is the only golf program for veterans taught by PGA Professionals trained in VA-Approved Adaptive Sports Instruction
The mission of PGA REACH is to positively impact lives by enabling access to PGA Professionals, PGA Sections and the game of golf.

ABOUT US – Programs for our PGA HOPE NENY started with one flagship program and now offers 6 HOPE programs throughout the section.
ROGRAM GROWTH – Since 2019, we’ve grown from 1 PGA HOPE program serving 19 veterans to 5 short years later, offering 10 PGA HOPE programs graduating over 125 veterans annually.
WHY IT MATTERS – Funds raised will enable us to offer off-season, social HOPE gatherings to stay connected, new equipment for HOPE veterans (golf clubs), and smaller HOPE Chapters by professionals who can handle 4-8 veteran students vs. a full-blown program.

Create a safe environment for Veterans and their families and establish relationships of trust with PGA Professionals
Have fun and encourage a culture of camaraderie
Teach Veterans the basics of golf including etiquette and course management
Empower Veterans to feel confident playing golf on their own after the program
Ensure year round programming opportunities as well as progressive programming

Veteran suicide is a major issue in the Veteran community, and statistics show 22 Veterans a day commit suicide. NENY PGA HOPE is working to change this statistic by utilizing the game of golf as a form of therapy.
Each PGA HOPE program requires $6,500-$8,500 in funding to operate the 5-7 week program.
We have huge aspirations to offer programming year round, grow our program chapters throughout the section geographically, grow participation #s in each, offer post-graduate programming, in addition to helping secure our veteran golfers with equipment and specialized/adaptive equipment needs.
