Nick Stoner Golf Course, Club House Destroyed in Fire

In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 16th a fire engulfed the club house of the Nick Stoner Golf Course located in Caroga Lake, NY. NENY PGA Section member, Steve Jennings has served the facility as it's head professional for more than 30 years and also has a hand in the maintenance/superintendent duties. Thankfully there were no major injuries, but everything in the club house was a complete loss.

Please continue to keep Steve and the entire staff in your thoughts and you can reach out to him via his email if you like.

NENY PGA Section - PGA HOPE Review
The NENY PGA Section was able to host 2 PGA HOPE Chapter Programs this year: NY Golf Park led by Lucas Cohen, PGA and Town of Colonie GC led by Noel Gebauer, PGA & Christian Torres. The section was going to have a 3rd Chapter, but unfortunately due to COVID our Leatherstocking GC program led by Tim Quirk, PGA had to be put on hold.

The veterans who took part in the programs were incredibly appreciative of the offering to learn and utilize golf as a means to provide rehabilitation both physically and mentally and genuinely provide a positive impact on their lives and those of their family members. All of our participants were invited to an end of the season outing hosted by Leatherstocking GC on a gorgeous fall day.

If you're interested in supporting a PGA HOPE program financially or through volunteer instruction, starting your own HOPE Chapter please reach out to Christian Torres, ctorres@pgahq.com
