Please be sure to join us to get up to speed and learn the nuances of the new World Handicap System!

Bill Moore, NYSGA Executive Director will present the details of the new WHS and what you and your cub have to do to get registered and ready for the 2020 season. Bill will also be available for any Golf Genius inquiries if you still need some brushing up. Brian Bain, PGA of America Regional League Manager will also run through changes to the 2020 PGA Juniorr League Season for all attendees.

PGA Professionals are encouraged to bring your Golf Chairman or Handicap Chairman or club leader at no additional cost. Eligibility is open to any and all interested individuals to learn more on the WHS.

PGA Junior-Senior Championship NENY PGA Representation

Shout out to Scott Berilner, PGA Assistant Professional at Hiland Park GC and Eric Mabee, PGA Head Professional at CC of Pittsfield and their respective partners in their fine play of the PGA Junior-Senior Championship this past week at Port St. Lucie, Florida at PGA Golf Club.

Berliner's team finished tied for 17th and Mabee came in at tied for 36th with both professionals cashing in the event that fielded nearly 150 teams! Mike Decker, PGA Assistant Professional at Shaker Ridge CC also played but unfortunately didn't make the cut.

The PGA Winter Championship is presented by Golf Pass and Prime Sports.

Members on the Move

With the new ownership of Mohawk Golf Club completed, there are changes in the professional staff. Jeremy Kerr, PGA has been moved up to Director of Golf and Rick Wolcott, PGA will be coming on board as the Head Professional.

Keith Sprenger, PGA who worked previously at Mohawk GC as an Assistant Professional will be taking on the Head Professional role at Pioneer Hills GC.

Dennis Estes, PGA Assistant Professional who has hung his hat at Albany CC for the last 6 years as Assistant Professional has been hired as the Head Professional at The Cavalry Club in Manlius. NY. Congratulations Dennis on your new job and we're wishing you all the best in the Central New York PGA Section.

Dal Daily, PGA has left his Head Professional position at Windham CC and accepted the Head Professional position with Battenkill CC in Greenwich, NY starting for the 2020 season.

PGA Financial Assistance Fund - Scholarship Application Now Open!

The PGA Financial Assistance Fund was established in 1986 and provides college scholarships to children and grandchildren of PGA Members based on evidence of academic achievement during high school or college.

Important Dates:
December 10, 2019 - Application Opens
April 3, 2020 - Application Deadline
April 3, 2020 - Supporting Materials Deadline
May 2020 - Notification of Selection Results
August 2020 - Funds Disbursed
August 2020 - Deadline date for photo submission
October 2020 - PGA Financial Assistance Scholarship recipients will beo n PGA.org and in PGA Magazine

TAX INFO - REMINDERS 1099 Forms

Plese take note that this week all PGA of America, PGA Section and PGA Golf Enterprise Inc. (PGA Retirement Plus) 2019 1099 Tax Forms were mailed out.

Saddened to Share: Daniel J. Farrell, CCM

We're sad to share the news of the sudden passing of Dan Farrell CCM. Dan lived and served as General Manager of local clubs here in the Capital Region including The Edison Club and Saratoga Golf & Polo Club.

Service plans include calling hours on Sunday, February 2 at White Chapel Funeral Home in Auburn, NY and a funeral mass at St. Mary's Church on Monday, February 3. Click HERE for full obituary.
