NENY PGA Hole of the Week Standings - Update
With 9 holes now in play of the season long competition (inclusive of 3 Majors and 5 Indvidual Pro Classics) a total of 53 different Class A members have played in these events! It's tight at the top of the leaderboard with Berliner and John Neet (The Edison Club) tied at 4-under par and Glenn Davis (Albany CC) just one shot behind at 3-under.

There are only 2 par three holes left to determine the Satch Sales Hole of the Week competition! .

It is our pleasure to share that the application process for PGA LEAD Cohort V, Class of 2020-2021 has begun. Below is a one-page sheet that includes information on eligibility, the application process, programming, the obligation of participants and the selection criteria.

The application window for PGA LEAD Cohort V is open until the deadline, Friday, November 15, 2019 at midnight, PST. The announcement of PGA Members selected for PGA LEAD Cohort V will be made on Monday, December 9, 2019.

PGA Members who have the desire to ascend through the volunteer leadership ranks of the Association should consider applying. If you have any questions on the PGA LEAD please contact Linnet Carty.

NENY PGA Section To Administer First - Section 2 High School Girls Golf Championship & State Qualifier

Seeking PGA Professionals for Active Rules Committee
With Section 2 High School Girls Golf well under way with 12 teams established, the NYSPHAA Section 2 administration has approved the NENY PGA Section to administer the first ever Section 2 High School Girls Golf Championship & State Qualilfier. The tournament will be both the Championship & State Qualifier in one, with an expected 60-70 girls in the field and the NENY PGA Section is seeking PGA Professionals who would like to volunteer your time (MSR Requirements will be provided and lunch!) to serve on the Rules Committee chaired by our Tournament Directorand be on hand during the event to help make it successful. Dottie Pepper has generously made her schedule available and will address the group during the luncheon following.

Membership Updates

Congrats
Brad's Golf-A-Thon Results

A week ago on September 11, 2019 ,Brad Gardner, PGA Head Professional raced through The Edison Club course as he played a solo golf-a-thon to raise funds for Folds of Honor. We are happy to report that Brad exceeded his original goal of playing at least 200 holes ( he made it through 204 before a knee injury forced him to stop) and ended up raising $29,226. These funds will go towards educational scholarships for family members of our fallen and disabled service members.

Athlete of the Week Honors
Congratulations to Charlee Kennedy, daughter of Bob Kennedy, PGA Head Professional at Van Schaick Island CC who recently was named Athlete of the Week at Shenendohawa High School. Charlee led the newly formed Girls High School Golf Team to a week of undefeated matches with rounds of 40, 39 and 40!
