PGA LEAD 2022 Applications Open Until September 17th

PGA LEAD VII is taking applications until September 17th. Please use the link below for eligible Class A PGA Professional with one year in good standing who are interested in ascending through the volunteer leadership ranks of the Association. Since 2016 there have been 1 Section President, 3 Section Vice Presidents, 1 Section Secretary, 13 members serving on Section Boards, and 19 members on National Committees.

NENY PGA Professional Championship Rescheduled

Due to Hurricane Henri and its expected rain effects, the Section’s Professional Championship has been postponed. The National Qualifier was originally scheduled for Mon-Tues, August 23rd-24th and has been rescheduled and will take place on Mon-Tues, August 30th-31st, still hosted at Hiland Park Golf Club. The field will be vying for two qualifying spots in the 2022 PGA Professional Championship.

2021 NENY PGA Junior League Section Championship Underway
Fri-Sat, Aug. 13th-14th at Town of Colonie GC

Starting today, 13 teams are vying in the postseason play of the PGAJr. League Section Championships for the NENY PGA. 11 teams are competing in the 13 & Under Competition and 2 Teams in the 17 & Under. Wishing all these juniors and their captains the best of luck and, most of all, to have fun!! There were over 600.

PGA Job & PGA Compensation Profile

We are SHORT on each of these career services tasks from our NENY PGA Section membership!

Our goal is 60% completion for each of these, and currently, the NENY PGA Job Profile completion % is sitting at 54% (81 out of 151) members, and in the PGA Compensation Survey, we only have 41 out of 151 for a mere 27% completion rate.

NENY Section Scholarship Winners Announced

We’re thrilled to share the news of 4 NENY PGA Section award recipients of the PGA of America’s Scholarship Program. This year, due to available funds from the endowment, a total of $400,000 in scholarships were given, and there were 185 total scholarships awarded. There were nine total applicants in the section, and 4 earned $2,000 scholarships each.

Clubhouse Fire At Christman’s

The Town of Windham and its community shared a sad day due to an early morning fire that destroyed the clubhouse at Christman’s Windham House Golf Course on Monday, Jul. 12th. The building housed the pro shop and a restaurant. No one was injured, but the 200+-year-old building is a complete loss.
